They reward verified performance under pressure. Solana is now asking the market to watch a performance stress test in real time. The question is whether the network can prove that faster block production does not simply convert latency risk into validator risk.

The upgrade itself is not a new consensus architecture. It is not a cryptographic breakthrough. It is not a fork that rewrites the rules of the road. It is a deliberate, multi-step reduction in block interval, moving from the prior 400-millisecond target toward 200 milliseconds.
